History of the Community of St. Vincent’s House Bochasan

The long awaited desire of Rt. Rev. Mgr. Bishop Charles Gomez to have the sisters – Daughters of charity in his diocese had been realized in the month of May 1985.
The first three sisters- Beatrice, Lydia pinto, Joan Antony arrived atBochasan in the month of May 1985.
The principle aim of establishing this community here is to have the activities such as Health centre, village dispensaries, and education centre like Hostel for the Girls, House visits, faith formation etc. The Bishop Charles Gomez SJ has given us a special task here at Bochasan parish. We have to continue working with the Catholics forming them in their faith. Shortly our being has to be a witness to the love of our lord Jesus through the service of the poor and needy.
At present parish of Bochasan is divided in to two parishes. In which there are about 455 Catholics in five villages. We sisters visit not only the Christian families in our locality but in different villages too. At the same time we visit the people of other religions being convinced that this brings good and lasting peace and harmony on human relations in the society of different religions.
