On 1st August 2006 The Daughters of Charity were called to work in St.John the Baptist Church, Thane. Sisters were called to do Pastoral work. First Sr.Joan Antony and Sr.AmalaPuraidam were the firstSisters to start this work. Sisters were coming from Trombay to do their services. On 21st August Father gave the place tostay. So Sisters were staying in the church campus. It was attached to Trombay community.
The Parish Priest of St.John the Baptist Church, Thane, Mumbai represented by Rev.Fr.JohnRumao the parish priest and the Daughters of Charity of St.Vincent de Paul of the Southern Province, legitimately represented by the ProvincialSr.RoseKidengean D.C has been entered into for mutual collaboration in the Pastoral Ministry of the Parish. Sisters agreed to collaborate with the Parish Priest and his team in the pastoral ministryof the Parish of St.John the Baptist Church, Thane

– Family Apostolate
– Church and Sacristy service etc.
On 30thSeptember 2008it has been erected as the community. Sr.BenedictaMendonca was appointed as the first sister servant and Sr.Joan Antony and Sr.AmalaPurayidam as the companion sisters.on 10th 2009 Sr.Amala left for Bochasan and Sr.JessyNellivila replaced her. On 17th 2011 Sr.Catherine Rodrigues took charge as the Sister Servant. Sr.PhilomenaEdammlavil came in 2013 to replace Sr.Jessy. Then in 2014 June Sr.Amala Reddy came as the Sister Servant. Then in order to teach the specialchildren in the school Sr.JishaKurumuttathucame to join our community. Now she is doing her D.Ed for special education. At present we are four Sisters rendering the Parish ministry in Thane.
